So my cousin and his girlfriend just had a baby girl. She looks just like my cousin (poor thing, j/k she's adorable!!) I wanted to go see her but didn't want to show up empty handed. Our funds are pretty low so I really couldn't go out and buy her something. after racking my brain i decided to make her something. I searched online for a crochet pattern and found this cute hat: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cheri-hat
Super cute and FREE!!! I already had the yarn at home, SCORE!!! So I crocheted her the adorable hat in one afternoon. Really easy. It came out a little big for a newborn but she'll grow into it. Now I can't wait to get a pic of her wearing it :)

Bottle Cap Flower Hair Clip
I've seen a lot of flower hair clips out there but never wanted to shell out money for them so I decided to attempt to make them my self. So I searched the Internet for tutorials and found this one on YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv9PS7m7U4A I used flat bottle caps instead of the regular ones she used because I found them less bulky. My family and I are very big Oakland Athletics fans so I decided on using an A's logo for the center. It came out so cute that I made a few for my girls who sit with us in the left field bleachers. They were a lot easier to make than I thought and a lot cheaper. The flowers I found at Michael's for a under a dollar for a bunch and the bottle caps and epoxy stickers I found online for about $15 but there was enough to make several flowers so well worth it. The other supplies I had at home so no money spent there. Now my hair looks stylish every baseball game we go to LOL.

Dad's 50th Birthday
For my Dad's 50th birthday My mom, sister and I decided to throw him a surprise birthday party and it went off without a hitch. He was completely surprised, had no idea. It took a whole lot of planning but was so worth it. The party was a soccer theme with logo's of his favorite portuguese soccer team everywhere. I made the invitations, thank you cards and party favors pictured. The favors were my first attempt at chocolate molding. It was intimidating at first but once I got the hang of it the process was farly easy. All in all the whole event was worth all the hard work and months of planning. My father truly deserved it. Love ya Daddy!

Ear-Flap Bear Hat
I've become addicted to crocheting lately, it's kind of become my way to just sit back and get away from my crazy life for an hour or two each evening. Don't get me wrong I don't get away completely my son wouldn't have it but it's an outlet. Below is my first attempt at a ear flap bear hat for my son. cam out really cute and he loves. the ears took a little trial and error but I finally got it. I apologize for the blurry photos they were taken with my phone. Next time will have to use a real camera LOL.
I'm working on opening an Etsy store soon so some of my creations can be sold. There's a lot more I can do so stay tuned for more crafts. But be warned I am addicted to making these hats so there will be many :)
Come back soon!!!!
